Two Goals for the Woodburn Boys Soccer Club

This summer Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC. embarked on a community service project to give back to the Woodburn School district.

Each year the Woodburn Boys Soccer Club volunteers at our haunt and provide us the bulk of our actors and techs needed to operateour haunted attraction.

When visiting the school we noticed that a pair of soccer goals were in severe disrepair.

So we offered to break em down, take em home and refurbish them.

After receiving about $3500 worth of donated goods and services from 6 different companies and around 120 donated man hours, we were able to return the bight and shinny new goals back to the high school in time for the end of summer tournaments.

We  stripped em down to the base metal.  had them re-welded in some areas.  New hardware and a fresh coat of aircraft paint.

We truly appreciate the boys at the Woodburn soccer Club.  We're proud that they are State Champions.

They are certainly number one in our book.

We were happy to help them out and participate in this community service project.

The Woodburn Boys Soccer Club will be joining us again this year at Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC.

Helping us add a little chill up our guests spine over the Halloween season.

Back for their third year with us and this year they are joined by the Woodburn Girls Soccer Club.

A portion of the ticket sales at Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC. goes to supporting these clubs.

Free Scary Movie - NIght of the Living Dead

A scary movie classic is free on YouTube. from Rotten Tomatoes, "George A. Romero's debut set the template for the zombie film, and features tight editing, realistic gore, and a sly political undercurrent."

Reviews :
"Romero conjures moments of eeriness and dread throughout, keeping the lighting low and the special effects to a minimum, though there will be blood, fire, cannibalism and a great deal of death"
Steve Rose, Guardian

"The immediate, quasi-documentary feel, a result of budgetary constraints, actually served the film's horror, jolting audiences because it all seemed just a little too real." April Wolf, Village Voice

"What's truly remarkable is how, after half a century and an uncountable number of zombie films, novels, comics, TV shows, and video games, you can watch the original Night of the Living Dead and it still feels fresh and terrifying." Austin Trunick, Under the Radio

2019 Scary Movie - Hagazussa

Suzie One Eye
In a remote Alpine village in the 15th century, the orphan Albrun grows up to become a marked woman. The scapegoat of ancient superstitions and monstrous misogyny, this self-styled witch begins to assert her otherworldly birthright.

This scary art house movie is recommended by our trusted scare advisor, Suzie One Eye, our resident ghost at Milburn's Haunted Manor. She wants you to stay scared all summer, so we are posting scary movies and books and other legend and lore on our blog.

In Hagazussa, movie reviews were a high 95% consensus on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review site.

Despite this, Myron manages to piece together something of a life as a private investigator specializing in helping people on both sides of the great divide—until a stunning blonde beauty walks into his office needing help finding her husband. Myron wants no part of the case until he sees the man's picture ... and instantly his carefully reconstructed life begins to unravel."

Halloween Movie Revisited Forty Years Later

Scariest movie of 2018 ? Trailer below ...

In case you remember the movie Halloween released in 1978 with Jamie Lee Curtis, it had rave reviews and became a "cult classic".  In the movie a young boy kills his sister on Halloween of 1963, and is sent to a mental hospital. 15 years later he escapes and returns to his home town in order to wreak havoc. The critics consensus is that it is "Scary, suspenseful, and viscerally thrilling, Halloween set the standard for modern horror films."

Forty Years Later ...

How can we not resist the description of this sequel to the cult classic four decades earlier? from the Rotten Tomatoes reviews website - "Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago."

In this trailer lyrics are heard as we see woods and mannequins, and then Jamie Lee Curtis. Both films, the 1978 original and this sequel are listed in the top 100 horror films of all time based on the critics reviews on the website Rotten Tomatoes.

Stay tuned to our blog as we may post trailers of other scary films.
