Two Goals for the Woodburn Boys Soccer Club

This summer Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC. embarked on a community service project to give back to the Woodburn School district.

Each year the Woodburn Boys Soccer Club volunteers at our haunt and provide us the bulk of our actors and techs needed to operateour haunted attraction.

When visiting the school we noticed that a pair of soccer goals were in severe disrepair.

So we offered to break em down, take em home and refurbish them.

After receiving about $3500 worth of donated goods and services from 6 different companies and around 120 donated man hours, we were able to return the bight and shinny new goals back to the high school in time for the end of summer tournaments.

We  stripped em down to the base metal.  had them re-welded in some areas.  New hardware and a fresh coat of aircraft paint.

We truly appreciate the boys at the Woodburn soccer Club.  We're proud that they are State Champions.

They are certainly number one in our book.

We were happy to help them out and participate in this community service project.

The Woodburn Boys Soccer Club will be joining us again this year at Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC.

Helping us add a little chill up our guests spine over the Halloween season.

Back for their third year with us and this year they are joined by the Woodburn Girls Soccer Club.

A portion of the ticket sales at Milburn's Haunted Manor, LLC. goes to supporting these clubs.

A Big Thank You

A Big Thank You to

Woodburn Boys Soccer Club and to the Hubbard Police Dept (K9) Unit.

Woodburn Boys Soccer Club volunteers at our attraction as a fund raiser for their organization.  This was our 2nd year working with this club.

We refurbished a goal (welding and painting) for them as a "thank you" for a great season.
We'll do one this year and the other other next.

We also have a donation jar at multiple locations for the Hubbard Police K9 Unit and we match all donations made to them at our location.

We will continue with both of these community participation's again this year.

Free Scary Movie - NIght of the Living Dead

A scary movie classic is free on YouTube. from Rotten Tomatoes, "George A. Romero's debut set the template for the zombie film, and features tight editing, realistic gore, and a sly political undercurrent."

Reviews :
"Romero conjures moments of eeriness and dread throughout, keeping the lighting low and the special effects to a minimum, though there will be blood, fire, cannibalism and a great deal of death"
Steve Rose, Guardian

"The immediate, quasi-documentary feel, a result of budgetary constraints, actually served the film's horror, jolting audiences because it all seemed just a little too real." April Wolf, Village Voice

"What's truly remarkable is how, after half a century and an uncountable number of zombie films, novels, comics, TV shows, and video games, you can watch the original Night of the Living Dead and it still feels fresh and terrifying." Austin Trunick, Under the Radio

2019 Scary Movie - Hagazussa

Suzie One Eye
In a remote Alpine village in the 15th century, the orphan Albrun grows up to become a marked woman. The scapegoat of ancient superstitions and monstrous misogyny, this self-styled witch begins to assert her otherworldly birthright.

This scary art house movie is recommended by our trusted scare advisor, Suzie One Eye, our resident ghost at Milburn's Haunted Manor. She wants you to stay scared all summer, so we are posting scary movies and books and other legend and lore on our blog.

In Hagazussa, movie reviews were a high 95% consensus on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review site.

Critics consensus:
"Hagazussa: A Heathen's Curse weaves a spooky supernatural story that should satisfy horror fans with more adventurous inclinations."

LA Times
"Review: The medieval horror of ‘Hagazussa’ unsettles as it beguiles"

Variety
"A young woman is shunned as a witch in Lukas Feigelfeld's debut feature, a gorgeously unsettling vision of 15th-century superstition and vengeance."
